Due to the pandemic, we are having to alter our rescue protocol. There are fewer GSD right now and we are not able to have our monthly adoption days. But we are constantly searching out good dogs to bring into the program and they are not available as quickly as they used to be, since they need to be vetted and vet appointments are limited. Please bear with us and continue to check our website frequently or follow us on Facebook as we do have dogs in the pipeline waiting to be adopted.
Due to insurance restrictions children must be 6 years of age or older
and fencing must be 5' or higher and secure.
All dogs are in foster care, shown by appointment only. See Adoption Process.

1 year / Female
Deena is a large female with beautiful markings and a sweet personality. She is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly and loves to give kisses once she gets to know you. She prefers spending time with her humans and isn't very interested in toys. Deena enjoys playing with other dogs but will chase cats. She also enjoys having free time to play out in the yard. She is housebroken and knows how to use a doggie door. She is learning to walk on a loose leash and do basic commands. Deena learns quickly and is treat motivated. She gets a little nervous in the car which she may outgrow with time and positive experiences. Deena would do best in an active home that will give her plenty of exercise and continue her training.
5 years / Male
Chet is super cute, very sweet and good with other dogs. He rides well in the car, loves to go on walks and is crate trained and housebroken. Chet has EPI, which is relatively common in German Shepherd Dogs. It is easily managed by adding enzyme powder to his food to help with digestion. Chet bonds with his family but can be nervous around new people so he would do best in a quiet home without a lot of activity and new people coming in and out. He's looking for that special home to call his own that will give him the love and life that he deserves.
7 years / Male
At 7 years old, Pantera suddenly found himself abandoned, afraid and alone. Given his age and some limited mobility issues due to an old injury, he was at risk of being euthanized to make space for younger, "more adoptable" dogs, so we brought him into our program to give him the "Second Chance" he deserved.
Pantera is just a big love bug. All he wants is a warm bed, a family to love and to be loved. His silly playful nature and soulful loving eyes quickly made him a favorite here at SCGSR. To meet him is to love him. He is very large, strong and young at heart. He is a good boy in the house and is housebroken. He would love a low energy home where he can spend time with his family and be spoiled as an only pet. He enjoys spending time outside to play and explore on short walks.
Can you or someone you know give him the love and care he deserves and truly make his “Golden Years” golden?
