Adoption Process

​

1. Fill out and submit our Adoption Questionnaire.

2. Have a phone interview.

3. Have an in person or virtual home visit - this requires you to be located in East Bay, South Bay, Peninsula, San Francisco, Marin Greater Sacramento Area and Placer. We do not adopt outside of our service area in case you are in need of our services following the adoption.  

4. If you do not own your own home, your landlord must sign our Landlord Approval Form.​

 

Due to insurance restrictions:

• Children living with or regularly visiting, must be at least 6 years of age or older

• Fencing must be 5 feet or higher and secure 

• Adopting families must reside in the State of California 

 

Adoption fees include all core, age-appropriate vaccines, heartworm testing (1 year old and up) and are negative and spay or neuter. Adopters who already have had an approved home visit, have priority to adopt available dogs. Dogs under 1 year - $450, 1-3 years - $400, 4-6 years $350 and over 6 years $300.
