Young At Heart
Why Adopt an Older Dog?
They still have a lot of life to live and a lot of love to give.
-
What you see is what you get.
-
Old dogs can learn new tricks.
-
Your furniture and carpet with thank you.
-
When you sleep, they sleep.
-
They bond and settle in faster.
-
They may have been around the block, but they are still ready for new adventures.
-
They require less time and supervision.
-
They never stop expressing their gratitude.
-
Their life has value and beauty at any age.
Did you know that it takes nearly four times longer for older dogs to be adopted?
In overcrowded public shelters they may not have that kind of time.
Older dogs wind up in shelters for various reasons, but often the family that loved them for many years is no longer able to care for them due to sickness or death. These dogs have lost the only home they've ever known and owners they loved. There are no guarantees in life, and adopting a younger dog doesn't necessarily mean you will have them longer. There is no age limit to the unconditional love of a dog. Help a senior dog's "golden years" truly be "golden" in a loving home.
